My very first star! 
Making it was a lot easier than I thought it would be! I must say, thought, that I don't like this star as much as I thought I would. That is mostly because I am ashamed I didn't do better! I do still like it, though, since it is my first star. 
If anyone's curious, I made the star according to a pattern from a very cool Czech bead site: [link] Why on Earth would I go to a Czech bead site? Well, let's just say I was inspired by a certain Czech beader! I'm sure my watchers can figure out who I am talking about!

Well done, twin! I thought you weren't excited about this pattern..

They would make nice rays from the center of the star since they are oblong.
Some hints for further stars: try to use sparkly beads for stars and combine only sparkly/only matte beads together (well, this is my view and you don't have to agree).
So you know how it works at last. Does it hold together well? Be careful about the wire ending; it shouldn't be very visible. As I am looking at it, I have another idea: if the beads nearest to the center were not violet but e.g. yellow, it would resemble a flower even more.
